Conveyor rollers are the cylindrical components fitted into roller conveyor frames to support and transport goods (pallets, boxes, containers) either by gravity or by drive. They form the heart of the roller conveyor. By minimizing friction and wear, they enable smooth, controlled movement of loads from one station to another. They deliver a low-maintenance, energy-efficient solution that optimizes material flow and warehouse throughput. Their modular design allows for rapid assembly, extension, or reconfiguration to suit accumulation, sorting, or incline applications.
It is of importance to choose the right idlers for the job. Certain vital elements must be taken in account. We at Easy Conveyors focus on delivering components tailored for roller-based conveyor systems that accelerate material flow and operational logistics.
Choosing the appropriate idler roller entails a thorough examination of every assembly, including but not limited to the bearing type. The design and material need to fit together to ensure that factors like axle dimensions and conveying speed work accordingly. The selection of materials for assemblies is essential as well.
The combination of the tube, bearing, and axle must be strong enough to carry a certain load. To ensure the quality and sustainability of the application, technical and environmental requisites, such as temperature and humidity control, must be taken into account.
At Easy Conveyors, we prioritize the protection of our plastic bearings through advanced sealing solutions. Our customers can select from two effective options: the labyrinth seal and the abrasive plastic seal. Both are designed to shield bearings from contamination and dirt, ensuring consistent performance and extended service life.
Our plain bearings, crafted from thermoplastic materials and enhanced with a PA or POM plain bearing bush, are an optimal solution for light materials and are especially suitable for use in wet environments.
Our portfolio also includes ball series made from thermoplastic materials, particularly polypropylene (PP). These can be paired with either steel or stainless steel balls, making them an excellent choice for light materials. Additionally, we offer conical ball bearings made of hardened steel, perfect for light to medium-weight conveyed goods.
We also provide precision ball bearings that are lightly greased and standardized to DIN 625. Available with various seals and in different series, these bearings require a bearing clearance of C3.
Easy Conveyors offers support rollers with diverse bearing bases. Our plastic roller bases, made from polyamide (PA), polypropylene (PP), or polycarbonate (PC), are designed to minimize noise emissions. For industries that require steel use, our steel bearing bases, made from galvanized or bright deep-drawn sheet steel, also effectively reduce noise emissions.
Specialized surface finishes are crucial for idlers in various applications. We provide a wide range of surface and coating options tailored to your specific needs.
Easy Conveyors offers untreated idler tubes, available in steel tube (ST), stainless steel tube (N2), and plastic tube (KB or KGH). These tubes do not undergo additional surface treatments and are distinguished by specific abbreviations.
We offer electro-galvanized idlers (STI) with a protective layer of approximately 0.8 µm to protect your conveyors from corrosion. Note that this protection can be compromised by mechanical and thermal influences, leading to potential corrosion in affected areas. Fully galvanized, driven idlers, including the drive element, are denoted with the abbreviation “batch galvanized” (ST).
Our PVC-coated idlers feature a hose applied to a steel tube using compressed air. We offer this type of hose in various designs and dimensions.
We provide a PU Baytec coating, available in black with a hardness of 73° Shore, as well as other options with more complex application methods and hardness levels ranging from 70-90° Shore.
For steel idler tubes, we offer an epoxy resin coating. Customers can specify the desired RAL color number when ordering.
Another option is nitrocarburizing, a thermochemical process that creates a nitrided layer on the steel tube, achieving a surface hardness of up to 540 HV1 with a maximum penetration depth of 0.2 mm.
